Public Retention Review vs Full Klaviyo Account Audit

A transparent explanation of what can be assessed from a Shopify storefront and what requires authorized Klaviyo access.

The phrase “free Klaviyo audit” is often used for a review that never enters the Klaviyo account. That distinction matters.

What a public review can assess

A public review can examine signup placement, the value promise, visible form friction, checkout experience, public trust signals and, when appropriate, the communications received after a test signup or test purchase completed with consent.

What remains private

Without authorized access, a reviewer cannot responsibly claim to inspect trigger configuration, filters, conditional splits, exit logic, segment definitions, suppression, sending-domain setup, attribution, historical performance or account-level deliverability.

What a full audit should include

A full audit should define access, data handling and scope. It may review account architecture, active and draft flows, segmentation, templates, list health, authentication, campaign cadence, reporting, integrations and the customer experience.

Why the distinction builds trust

Clear boundaries protect the client and the consultant. They prevent impressive-sounding claims that are unsupported by the evidence available. A public review can still be useful; it simply should be named accurately.

Recommended language: “public customer-journey review” for storefront analysis, and “Klaviyo account audit” only when authorized account access is included.
Apply the thinking

Request a public customer-journey review.

A clear first step for Shopify pet brands that want to identify visible lifecycle gaps.
